
Academic Achievement in a Regional Research Forum
Telkom University once again demonstrated its academic excellence at the regional level through the West Java Research Summit (WJRS) 2025. In the Scientific Paper Competition (Call for Paper) organized by the Government of West Java Province, a Telkom University research team successfully secured Second Place under the theme Quality of Government Governance and Human Resource Competitiveness. This achievement highlights the university’s active role in contributing to research-driven regional development.
The research team consisted of Heru Nugroho, S.Si., M.T., Wardani Muhammad, S.T., M.T., and Erna Hikmawati, S.Kom., M.Kom., all of whom are lecturers from the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FIT) and also affiliated with the Center of Excellence (CoE) Sustainable Governance (BEST) under the Research Institute for Intelligent Business and Sustainable Economy (RI-IBSE), Telkom University. Their interdisciplinary collaboration highlights the Faculty of Applied Sciences’ active role in producing applied and data-driven research, while also reflecting RI-IBSE’s strong focus on addressing real-world challenges in governance quality and digital transformation through scientific innovation.
The team presented a paper entitled “From Data to Policy: Utilizing Machine Learning to Analyze the Impact of Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE) on Governance Quality and Human Resource Competencies in West Java.” The study explores the application of machine learning approaches to support data-driven policymaking, particularly in evaluating the impact of SPBE implementation on government governance and the competencies of public sector human resources
Looking ahead, this achievement is expected to further strengthen Telkom University’s contribution to evidence-based public policy development and digital government transformation, particularly at the regional level. The research outcomes are anticipated to serve as a strategic reference for local governments in enhancing the implementation of Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE), improving governance quality, and developing human resource competencies. Moreover, this accomplishment is hoped to inspire broader collaboration between academia and government institutions in advancing sustainable and impactful research initiatives.
