Innovation from PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) and Telkom University<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, together with Telkom University, launched the Indoor Air Quality Monitoring System (IAQMS) as a concrete step to address the challenge of air pollution in Jakarta. The IAQMS, which is the result of innovation from a startup under the guidance of Telkom University, namely Birulangit, has been implemented in the Telkom Landmark Tower building and is targeted to be implemented throughout the country through sustainability initiatives that have a direct impact on the health, comfort, and productivity of human resources as the main asset of PT Telkom Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why focus on environment<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the August 2025 IQAir<\/a> report, Jakarta ranks among the 10 cities with the most polluted air due to industrial activities, limited rainfall, and open burning practices. This is reinforced by a report from the Ministry of Environment<\/a>, which states that a number of locations in Greater Jakarta have been categorized as Unhealthy to Very Unhealthy due to increased levels of fine particulate matter (PM 2.5), which is predominantly from motor vehicles. In response to the above issues, IAQMS was launched equipped with advanced sensors to monitor indoor air quality in company workspaces in real-time, including checking PM 2.5 levels, CO2 levels, temperature, and humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Products and Functions<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This IAQMS<\/a> data can be visualized through a web-based dashboard equipped with recommendations related to air circulation, ventilation, and energy management. The implementation of IAQMS is expected to be a joint strategic step in addressing pollution issues in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real Word Implementation and Future Outlook<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This IAQMS<\/a> product is expected to have commercial benefits, namely energy efficiency and health cost savings. By implementing this program, it is expected to generate a Return on Investment (ROI) of 235.8%. Telkom targets the installation of IAQMS in strategic locations in Indonesia as a form of PT Telkom Indonesia’s responsibility to the world by seriously developing products based on SDGs, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) in creating a healthy and sustainable work environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
