Advancing International Research Collaboration

The Center of Excellence (CoE) Economics of Advanced Digital Technology (EADT) at Telkom University welcomed a professor from Grenoble École de Management, France, as part of a joint research collaboration under the PHC Nusantara Grant scheme funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendikti) in 2025. This visit marked an important milestone in strengthening international research networks and advancing cross-country collaborative research initiatives.

The collaboration involves three researchers from CoE EADT, namely Dr. Adhi Prasetio, Dr. Grisna Anggadwita, and Dr. Ashri Putri Rahadi, focusing on the research topic “Green Entrepreneurship in the Batik Industry: A Pathway to Sustainable Development.” The research is also supported by other Telkom University researchers, including Lia Yuldinawati, Ph.D. and Fat’hah Noor Prawita, M.T., as well as Dr. Anggraeni Permatasari from President University.

Scope the Collaboration

During the visit, various research activities were conducted, including interviews with respondents, discussion and validation of research instruments, as well as reviews of first-year research progress and follow-up plans. As part of the field observation agenda, the activities also included visits to the Batik Laboratory at the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FIT) Telkom University, field observations at Kampung Batik Laweyan in Surakarta, a visit to the Jakarta Batik Museum, and a visit to Telkom University’s Augmented Reality (AR) Laboratory. In addition, a Batik Design Sharing session by Jossie was held as part of knowledge exchange related to batik design and innovation.

The findings are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating relevant and applicable strategies to support the sustainable development of the batik industry in the future.

Final Report and Future Outlook

The research collaboration is carried out under the PHC Nusantara scheme, a joint funding program between the Governments of Indonesia and France, with a total research duration of two years. Currently, the project has entered the stage of final report preparation and first-year evaluation, with a scope that includes joint research activities, field data collection, observations, and joint publications involving researchers from Telkom University, President University, and Grenoble École de Management.

Through this collaboration, CoE EADT Telkom University aims to further strengthen its contribution to international research, particularly in supporting innovation, sustainability, and the development of Indonesia’s batik-based creative industry through research-driven and global collaboration.
