Introduction to LP3H Telkom University

LP3H Telkom University is a Halal Product Process Assistance Institution that officially began operating on July 17, 2024, with approval from BPJPH. The institution was established to assist micro and small enterprises in obtaining halal certification, particularly through the self-declare pathway. This service ensures that products consumed by the public are guaranteed halal according to Islamic principles.

Halal Certification Services

The main role of LP3H Telkom University is to guide business owners through each stage of halal certification. The assistance covers the creation of a Business Identification Number (NIB), submission through the SIHALAL system, product data entry, verification of raw materials, and on-site validation. Halal Process Assistants (PPH) directly visit production sites to confirm that the information submitted matches the actual practices. This method reduces errors and minimizes document returns from BPJPH, ensuring a smoother certification process.

Service Schemes and Accessibility

LP3H Telkom University provides flexible service schemes. The first scheme is free facilitation through the government’s “Sehati” program, which offers one million quotas for halal certification self-declare. In addition, CSR funding from organizations such as Lazismu can cover certification costs for entrepreneurs. If neither is available, entrepreneurs may still apply by paying a fee of IDR 230,000 directly to BPJPH. This range of options makes halal certification more accessible for business owners.

Advantages of LP3H Telkom University

The advantages of LP3H Telkom University lie in its comprehensive guidance and adherence to BPJPH standards. The institution emphasizes on-site verification to ensure compliance with halal requirements. Its commitment to quality reduces errors and improves the approval rate for halal certificates. Moreover, the eligibility limit for small enterprises to apply via self-declare has been increased to IDR 15 billion annual turnover, broadening the opportunity for more businesses to benefit.

Requirements for Halal Certification

Entrepreneurs seeking halal certification through LP3H Telkom University must meet several requirements, including having a valid NIB, using only verified halal ingredients, ensuring a simple production process, and appointing a Muslim halal supervisor. Products must be free from prohibited elements and verified by a PPH assistant. All documents are submitted digitally through SIHALAL, streamlining the overall process and making it easier for businesses to comply.
