Telkom University innovation appreciated by Minister of Higher Education

Telkom University Innovation Gains National Recognition

Telkom University welcomed Indonesia’s Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D, during his visit on August 19, 2025. His arrival was warmly received by Rector Prof. Dr. Suyanto, along with the Head of LLDIKTI Region IV, representatives from the Telkom Education Foundation, and Tel-U leaders.

The Minister was first introduced to Telkom University innovation in waste management through the TelUrator project, an independent incinerator system developed since 2020. This innovation aligns with the government’s vision for impactful science and technology.

The Role of Telkom University Innovation in Achieving Indonesia Emas 2045

In the Semester Preparation Meeting for Academic Year 2025/2026, Prof. Brian delivered a keynote speech on The Role of Universities, Science, and Technology in Achieving Indonesia Emas 2045. He stressed the importance of research and innovation in helping the nation escape the middle-income trap.

He explained that industries built on science and technology could create amplified impact, and universities must serve as growth engines by collaborating with industry. According to him, Telkom University innovation has the potential to become a key driver of economic progress in Indonesia.

Encouraging Lecturers to Inspire Future Leaders

Beyond research and technology, Prof. Brian emphasized the essential role of lecturers in shaping graduates with resilience, integrity, and leadership. He reminded the academic community that every student success represents the true reward of educators’ dedication.

He left an inspiring written note: “Be inspiring lecturers. Become a university that serves as a source of innovation for industry and society.” His message strengthened the motivation of lecturers to begin the new semester with renewed passion.

Support from Local Government for Telkom University Innovation

This important event also received support from Bandung Deputy Regent Ali Syakieb and his delegation, further affirming the strong collaboration between government, academia, and industry in advancing Telkom University innovation for national development.
