Tel-U and Telkom Indonesia partnership for Digital Talent Ecosystem Development

Bandung, July 23, 2025 – Telkom University (Tel-U) and PT Telkom Indonesia have announced a strategic partnership to advance Indonesia’s digital talent ecosystem development through the Framework for Talent Pool Development Through Tech Company–Academic Collaboration. This landmark initiative, focused on strengthening the digital talent ecosystem development in Indonesia, was officially launched at Tel-U’s Bangkit Building, attended by top leaders from both institutions, including Muhammad Awaluddin, Vice President Director of PT Telkom Indonesia; Henry Christiadi, Director of Human Capital Management; Seno Soemadji, Director of Digital Business Synergy & Development; and Prof. Dr. Suyanto, Rector of Tel-U, alongside the university’s leadership team.

Driving Digital Talent Ecosystem Development in Indonesia

During his remarks, Awaluddin emphasized that this collaboration is designed to deliver measurable, high-impact outcomes in digital talent ecosystem development. “Today, we officially launch this initiative. Moving forward, specific programs will be developed, including the creation of a joint AI Talent Pool task force. Our focus will be on advancing AI talent development using a well-structured framework and comprehensive assessment tools to ensure measurable results,” he said.

The accelerating pace of digital transformation brings both challenges and opportunities for Indonesia. Building a robust digital talent ecosystem development demands close cooperation between academia and industry, ensuring that the country remains competitive in the global digital economy.

Integrating Technology with Human Values in Talent Development

Rector Prof. Dr. Suyanto expressed optimism that this collaboration will produce not only technological innovations but also solutions that bring real benefits to society. He emphasized that talent should combine technical expertise with empathy and human values so that technology—including AI—can be a solution for real-world challenges.

Strategic Collaboration with Telkom Corporate University and CoE AI

The collaboration framework was outlined by Muhammad Subhan Iswahyudi, Senior General Manager of Telkom Corporate University. Tel-U reaffirmed its readiness to strengthen its Centers of Excellence (CoEs), particularly the CoE for Artificial Intelligence. This strategic move supports sustainable digital talent ecosystem development by nurturing highly skilled professionals ready to meet future industry demands.

Advancing AI Commercialization Through Digital Talent Ecosystem Development

This initiative will also accelerate the commercialization of AI-related talent and encourage dynamic exchanges of human resources between academia and industry. Students, lecturers, and researchers from Tel-U will have opportunities to contribute directly to Telkom Indonesia’s strategic projects. At the same time, industry demands for high-quality digital talent will be met through the strong and sustainable academic network. This collaboration represents a concrete step toward shaping Indonesia’s next generation of AI and digital professionals.
